Stable Isotope Geochemistry (Springer Textbooks in Earth Sciences, Geography and Environment) de Jochen Hoefs
Descripción - Reseña del editor This classic textbook is an introduction to the systematics and the use of stable isotopes in geosciences. It is subdivided into three parts: i) theoretical and experimental principles, ii) fractionation processes of light and heavy elements, iii) the natural variations of geologically important reservoirs. Since the publication of the previous edition advances in multicollector-ICP-mass-spectrometry allow precise measurements of new isotope systems. In this new edition therefore, 42 elements with resolvable natural variations in isotope composition are discussed. New findings from non-traditional isotope systems have been incorporated. Many new references have been added, which enable quick access to recent literature. Biografía del autor Jochen Hoefs has been working in the field of stable isotope geochemistry of the elements hydrogen, lithium, carbon, oxygen and sulfur since 1965. His main scientific interests include the stable isotope geochemistry of the mantle and lower crust, the genesis of basaltic and granitic magmas, water/rock interactions under hydrothermal conditions, the history of the ocean and the atmosphere and the application of stable isotopes to environmental problems. He has published about 150 scientific papers, mostly in international journals.

Non-conventional Light Stable Isotope Geochemistry / Earth ~ This course is designed for graduate students with an interest in using primary research literature to discuss and learn about current research around non-conventional light stable isotope geochemistry.
"Principles of Stable Isotope Geochemistry, 2nd Edition ~ Principles of Stable Isotope Geochemistry is written as a textbook to accompany a one semester course in Stable Isotope Geochemistry. There are 13 chapters, each dealing with a specific subtopic of the field. Other than Chapters 1 and 2 – introduction and definitions – most of the remaining chapters can be read without reliance on the preceding ones.
Isotope Geochemistry: : White, William M.: Libros ~ This book provides a comprehensive introduction to radiogenic and stable isotope geochemistry. Beginning with a brief overview of nuclear physics and nuclear origins, it then reviews radioactive decay schemes and their use in geochronology. A following chapter covers the closely related techniques such as fission-track and carbon-14 dating.

Isotope Geochemistry / Department of Earth Science ~ The Department of Earth Sciences at Dartmouth College has a number of faculty who specialize in use a variety of radiogenic and stable isotope systems. This research ranges from the study of core-mantle and crustal differentiation (Sharma), organic matter transformations (Feng), isotopes in the sedimentary record (Strauss and Leavitt), and organic geochemistry (Feng).
Isotope geochemistry - Wikipedia ~ Stable isotope geochemistry. For most stable isotopes, the magnitude of fractionation from kinetic and equilibrium fractionation is very small; for this reason, enrichments are typically reported in "per mil" (‰, parts per thousand). These enrichments (δ) represent the ratio of heavy isotope to light isotope in the sample over the ratio of a standard.
Geochemistry / Springer for Research & Development ~ As the term implies, geochemistry is a marriage between chemistry and geology, or more broadly geosciences or earth science, and it is arguably a subdiscipline of both. A better explanation of geochemistry is that it is applies chemistry and chemical principles to understanding the Earth and its cosmic environment and to using that understanding to better the human condition.
The geochemistry of the stable carbon isotopes* ~ The geochemistry of the stable carbon isotopes products are finally converted to carbon dioxide. The criteria used to establieh the lengthof a run are the attainment of total yields for eamules of known carbon content and the checking of results within the desired precision.
Stable Isotope - an overview / ScienceDirect Topics ~ Stable isotope probing (SIP) is a relatively new technique that is still being developed and refined. SIP involves the use of a stable isotope-labeled substrate to follow the fate of the substrate as it is metabolized by an intact microbial community (Kreuzer-Martin, 2007).The fate of the substrate is followed by extracting a biomarker molecule that can provide information about the community.
